Remember my name...FAME!

Chris got us 8 tickets to see the premier of Fame! We were real excited but I think it made Rachel & Taylor's night! They got a picture with Kay Panabaker, and Paul McGill. It was fun time and we even made it home by 10 pm :)
Since the boys didn't want to go and Sara couldn't because it conflicted with cheerleading practice we let the girls invite a friend. Rachel invited Mandy and Taylor invited Maddi. We still had 2 tickets so I offered them to Laura. She sent Torri & Katelyn. We were glad that they could come and be starstruck with us!

Let's Salsa!

Every year about this time, I start to feel very domestic. After canning with Marty & Mom a few weeks ago I thought I might try it myself. So, I bought a big box of tomatoes. My favorite way to eat tomatoes is in salsa. So I made a big bowl of it while Sara has been recovering.

I also bought peaches. They are beautiful.

And I made peach salsa! Yum!!!Chris is going to love this! Now, I better get some of these peaches and tomatoes bottled. Maybe tomorrow!

Bye Bye wisdom teeth

Sara before getting her wisdom teeth.
Sara after...she did really well. So far she has had very little swelling and no bruising. She has spent the better part of the day sleeping.

That's what little boys are made of....

Yesterday, I sent Jacob to the store to get a few things for salsa. When he came home brought me flowers...is that so sweet? What a sweet son! Thank you, Jacob! I love them & I love you too!

They grow up so fast!

I am feeling a little sad about my 2 oldest girls being gone away to school. There is definately a hole with out them here. I know that they have to grow up, but WOW, how did it happen so fast. I love those babies...who aren't really babies any longer. But they will always be my babies. Here is a look back at some of our memories. Fun, fun, fun!

Happy 80th Birthday Grandma Bishop!

Today we celebrated Grandma Bishop's 80th birthday. It was a suprise. She had no idea. Connie & Melanie are putting together another party for her on the 22nd (her actual birthday). Many of the family can't be there in the middle of the week so we had a family party today! It was lovely. I am not sure how many people ended up making it but it was a pretty big crowd! She is very loved! Happy Birthday Grandma!

Las Vegas Temple...Loni & Nick's sealing

Chris' cousin Loni & her husband & their 2 children were sealed yesterday in the Las Vegas Temple. Taylor hung out on the temple grounds while we went to the sealing. She loves to do family stuff!

I honestly have no idea who Chris was on the phone with...

Taylor is rockin' my shades. I forgot to leave them in the car.

Loni & Nick, Congratulations! The temple worker who sealed them was so stinkin' cute and funny! What a happy day!

More labor Day weekend

While Chris was in Rexburg helping Chelsey get settled into her dorm and the college life. I was enjoying the Golden Onion Days in Payson with my parents and Marty. We went straight to to food booths, Marty & I had a Navajo Taco and expensive but yummy lemonade drink. I can't remember the last time I had a Navajo Taco...it was so good! We wondered around the other booths. It was delightful. The people were so friendly. After the Festival we headed to one of mom's favorite spots...the Red Barn in Santaquin. It is a fun place to stop no matter how many times you have been there before. Mom, Dad and I left for Vegas from there. But the fun was not over...we stopped at Cracker Barrell in St. George for a little dinner and shopping! :)
Chris assures me that Chelsey is all squared away in the dorms with her computer set up and her books bought.
Good Luck Chelsey, first day of school tomorrow 9-10-09!

Labor Day Weekend Cont.

Sunday morning Chris, the twins & I left for a long road trip. Chris dropped me off at Marty's. He & the boys met up with Chelsey & Taylor in Bountiful, then continued on to Pocatello, Idaho. While they were driving Marty, Mom, Lisa, Emily & I were busy being very domestic. We bottled salsa, peach salsa, stewed tomatoes, pears, fruit cocktail, jam and we made freezer jam. The day before they had bottled peaches. I was so tickled with our work. I have been wanting to learn to do this for a few years.
It was a great sense of accomplishment to see all those bottles at the end of the day. My grandma Colleen, Carla & Megan came over while we were working. They pitched in with a little elbow grease and words of encouragement. We worked from about 1 pm until 11pm. I am pretty sure that I ate almost as much peach salsa as we bottled. It was so delicious! We would celebrate each time we would hear a bottle pop as it sealed! It was a lot of work but it was also a lot of fun!

Chris & the Bishop kids stayed with Nikki in Pocatello. Thanks Nikki!

Creativity running through her veins...

This is another painting that Rachel did. She wanted to do something for Chelsey before she left for college, so she painted her a sunflower. The picture is a little blurry because it was taken from a cell phone. It is wonderful to see my children using their talents.
