A weekend of blessings!

I am so grateful for my family and for the blessings of the gospel!
This past weekend was a sweet reminder of what is really important to me.

This is proud Papa Clint with baby Emery.
Emery made it out of the hospital just in time for all the festivities,
thanks to much fasting, prayers and faith!
This is Clint, Amanda, Brooklyn, Noah & Emery after the
sealing! What a wonderful blessing
to know that Families can be together forever!
The happiness is so evident in their faces!

My Mom

This is one of my favorite pictures of my mother, Jane Peterson Banks.

My Dad

Another great find from the photos my parents brought over Sunday Night!
This is my dad (Monty Peter Banks) in 1964, that makes him 15 or 16. There is not a date on the photo but the shirt he is wearing was from a Boy Scout Jamboree in 1964. That makes him about the same age as my boys.
The bottom photo is not dated
either but it says at the top
"Just got home from camp"
The little one riding on the top of his load is Lonnie.
I am loving these old pictures!

  • The first five people...to leave a comment on this blog will receive something made by me.
  • However there are some limitations:
  • 1. I make no guarantee that you will like what I make :)
  • 2. What I create will be just for you
  • 3. It will be done within a year (might take a while)
  • 4. You have no clue what it is going to be
  • 5. I reserve the right to do something really fun
  • Here'a the catch: if you choose to do this, you must post this on your blog and be ready to make something for five people too. This will be fun! When you receive the fabulous item I make you, you must post a picture of it on your blog.

This one is for you Lonnie!

As I had said in a previous post, my parents brought over a bunch of photos yesterday. It was such a joy for me to look through these pictures! Below are a few of Lonnie Banks. Lonnie is the eldest grandson on my father's side (my cousin). These were probably taken at another Banks Family Reunion. There was not a date on the pictures, so I don't know for sure how old he is.
Poor Lonnie, not only is his little foot hurt, but people are taking pictures of him taking a bath.

In the background is my Great-Aunt Glady Banks. She is a sister to my father's dad, my grandfather.
Did I mention that I had a blast looking through these pictures!

I love this picture!
There were several others of this same outing but I did not get to scan them.
My kids love looking back at pictures of themselves and the fun things we have done...I guess I do too!

"Me & Laura goes together like peas and carrots" Forrest Gump

Today my parents came over. They brought with them several large photo books. These pictures were acquired from my Grandmother Rosalie. She is my father's mother. My father (Monty) was the second son. He has an older brother, Johnny and a younger sister, Ann.
Growing up my Uncle John's family & ours spent a lot of time together. Uncle John's oldest daughter LauraLyn and I were the best of friends! I loved being with Laura. I have always looked up to her and wanted to be like her and do the same things as her.
She is a little over a year older than me. Every year our families would go to the Banks family reunion at Oak City Canyon. Below are a couple of pictures that I scanned today. I laughed so hard when I saw them. We were so silly.
On the back of one of the pictures my grandma had written:
"July 4, 1980 Jan & LauraLyn the clowns"
I hope that my posting this isn't embarrassing to my sweet cousin. It just reminded of how much fun and laughs we used to have together! I love this girl and I love that she lives just down the street, I want to continue to have more fun & Laughs with her forever! I hope that our children will love each other as much as I love her!
