My friend

Dana and I have been friends since we were 18 yrs old. We have had some great times together. As we got older we stopped seeing each other as much, but that special friendship we had is still there. Dana is a wonderful friend. I will always cherish her!

Thank you Dana for the suprise visit! It was such a joy to visit with your mother and Breanna!

I am so glad we are friends...because friends like you are one in a million!

UNLV vs BYU

Saturday night, Chris and I went to the UNLV vs BYU football game. It is always fun to go to the games. UNLV got whomped by BYU and we bailed in the 4th quarter to avoid some of the traffic. We love to watch Sara cheer.

John's Eagle Project

On Saturday John finished his Eagle Scout Project. It was working two stations at the RTC Viva Bike Ride. The 1st one was out at Lake Mead at the beginning of the ride. The 2nd one was down town near the end of the ride. I know that John is almost as relieved as we are to have this project complete. He has a few more steps before it is official but we definately see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope they call me on a mission...

Last month Chris had a mini mission reunion, with a few missionaries that served in Chile the same time that he did. I didn't get a chance to blog about it and the pictures I took turned out very blurry. So, I decided that I would post a few pictures from his mission. Chris had to learn to speak Spanish (of course) and when he first arrived in Chile he could not understand most of what people where saying to him. His companion was from Chile and didn't know English. This must have been very difficult. They baptized people in the ocean. You can see in the upper right hand corner one of the Elders is dripping wet. While Chris was serving in Chile there was a very large earthquake. He says that it was very wierd watching and feeling the earth shake. Chris was asked to serve when the mission calls were 18 months, while he was out the Church extended the calls back to 2 yrs. He was given the opportunity to choose if he wanted to stay the extra 6 months. He served an extra 5 months, and came home in December. I know Chris felt that his mission was a great experience spiritually and I am sure in other ways as well. I hope our sons will follow his example and serve a mission.

Feasting!

Today was a feast! It was a spiritual feast and a dutchoven feast! And I loved it! We watched General Conference today, it was full of wonderful messages about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to have a prophet on the earth today to be a mouth piece for our Heavenly Father. One theme that stuck out in my mind is that God loves us and he is mindful of us. I know that is true because I have felt it in my own life!
The other feast...dutchoven cooking by my dad! It is so good, it is impossible not to stuff yourself. He made his famous chicken wings & cheesy potatoes. He cooked a carrot cake (that Amanda mixed up) in the dutchoven as well. Mom & Clint made homemade ice cream. And Clint grilled corn on the cob! Oh yeah...is your mouth watering yet?
We celebrated Dawn's birthday because she couldn't be with us the day of her birthday...although we did party that day!

I feel so incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life...Today was a wonderful feast!
